Legs are assembled using a threaded rod and blocks with 1/2" hole.

Blocks can be arranged in any order to accomodiate different looks and/or components like shelves

On the first generation table all the pieces were left rough, including the top.

The second generation table was turned into a bench. The edges of the top were rounded and the height was adjusted for sitting.

Concept Description: The design had to satisfy three constraints.

Functional. Modular. Cheap.

Being the son of two craftspeople and a Vermonter who has hippie-dippie ideals, it was a natural desire to want to make functional pieces from what is normally waste from my father’s cabinet shop. The table is completely modular, in that the top can be removed, and the pieces forming the legs can be removed from their skewers, a threaded rod, and all blocks thrown in a box for easy moving. Also the pieces can be re-assembled in any configuration to adjust to changing needs of the table.
